If you or someone you love has endured and survived caner, the Cancer: Thriving and Surviving Workshop can help you take control of your life. The program will not conflict with existing programs or treatments. It will provide skills to coordinate what you need to manage your health and survive the effects of cancer.
You will learn practical strategies for making a smooth transition from clinical treatment to survivorship. Classes are highly participative and supportive, so you can build your confidence along with others who can understand how you feel and are living with similar challenges. By participating in a free two-hour six-session workshop, you will learn ways to:
- Deal with problems, such as frustration, fatigue, pain, isolation, poor sleep, and living with uncertainty.
- Regain and maintain flexibility and endurance.
- Make decisions about treatment and complementary therapies.
- Communicate effectively with family, friends, and health professionals.
- Set priorities.
- Make better nutrition and exercise choices.
- Develop and improve relationships.
Cancer: Thriving and Surviving
There is no cost to attend.
The workshop is open to any adult—young or old—interested in learning about thriving and surviving the effects of cancer.
Spouses, family members, parents and caregivers are welcome.
Each workshop participant receives the book, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions,” and a relaxation CD.Giveaways at each session.
