Categories

4th and 5th grade

Entries can be sweet or savory.

RULES

  • No store bought mixes
  • Include a copy of your recipe (name on back)
  • On the bottom of your disposable container, include your full name and grade.
  • Select 3 of your best pieces

JUDGING CRITERIA

  • Characteristics: How it tastes, the texture of the product, uniformity of the product (color, shape, done-ness, etc.)
  • Presentation: How you’ve styled/plated your entry
  • Creativity
  • Adherence to rules

9th – 12th grade

Baked and frosted/decorated cupcakes (any flavor or variety)

RULES

  • No store bought mixes
  • Include a copy of your recipe (name on back)
  • On the bottom of your disposable container, include your full name and grade.
  • Select 3 of your best cupcakes
  • All decorations must be edible

JUDGING CRITERIA

  • Characteristics: How it tastes, the texture of the product, uniformity of the product (color, shape, done-ness, etc.)
  • Presentation: How you’ve styled/plated your entry
  • Creativity
  • Adherence to rules


Hygiene in the Kitchen

  • Avoid preparing baked goods if you are feeling ill, are waiting on COVID-19 test results, or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19
  • Practice cleanliness and good hygiene by washing your hands for 20 second with soap and warm water before, during and after preparing food.
  • Clean surfaces and utensils in soap and hot water after preparing each food item and before you go on to the next food.
  • Thoroughly sanitize your electronic device prior to food preparation if using and touching.

Monday, May 24, 2021

Entries will be accepted from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Drop off at the 4-H Office (UT Extension Marshall County)

Directions: Hardison Office Annex located at 230 College St. Lewisburg, TN

Park in gravel lot off N. 4th Ave. and enter through double doors (follow signage and 4-H Clover).
